always liked the rain.

Workin' Hard & Hardly Workin'

Lately it seem that Justin's been working hard & I've been hardly working. I've had so many fun things going on- Women's Conference, a friends reunion, my Shade party, lunch dates, pedicures, out and about with the kids, etc.

Meanwhile, Justin's been busy with our yard. Hauling dirt, leveling it all out, digging trenches, pounding curbing in and not to mention dropping "The little giant" ladder on his toe!

Here's Jace & Justin out working hard. Loving Jace's true farm wear- complete with cowboy boots & his John Deere hat. He loves to help Jus with projects like this. True farm boy at heart (just like his dad.)

AHH & nothing like a boy and his dad riding off into the sunset on a tractor. Love it!

It will be so nice to get our yard in. I swear I'll start stepping it up & pitching in here soon.

Forever Friends

Ahhh, there's nothing like the company of an old friend. My good friend Alish & her two kids came for a visit May 15-17. Alish was my roommate at Utah State for 3 years. I have loved this girl from the moment I met her. She's full of ideas, organization & is just pure fun!

Jace had so much fun playing with her kids, Lexi & Cole. They played dress up, we took them bowling, had a picnic and played at the park, walked/biked/strolled/scooted around our neighborhood and of course, snuck in some girl time with pedicures and a late movie. (Thanks to Jus for taking on the kids!)

Saturday, we attempted to have a little college friends reunion, but Jenny was in Las Vegas, Nicole got sick kids at the last minute & couldn't make it, but Julie still showed! So the three of us enjoyed some time to visit & for the kids to play. It was so good seeing Julie & her kids again. Unfortunetly, I don't have any pictures of the three of us together, because it was a little chaotic when we went out to lunch. First, Cole smeared ranch dressing all over the table & his chair, so Alish was busy cleaning that up. And closely following the ranch disaster, Rylee managed to throw up all over me, herself, the table and the floor. I feel so bad for the person who had to clean up after us. Such is life! Next time, we might try the childless route.

Okay-- So I know I might be over doing it by having 2 posts about Shade, but seriously, I was just going through their catalog today & had to share the great deals. I know that clothing "basics" are not so new anymore. However, I still love them & wear them every single day. I found out about Shade about 5 years ago when a couple of friends in Salt Lake did a party. I was instantly converted & have completely worn them out. Sadly, they don't have a store in Idaho, so I thought I'd bring the store here for anyone who is interested.

Over the years, I've tried some of the competition and still feel that Shade delivers the best quality and cut. Seriously no tucking or hiding! Plus...they've expanded their line and now offer tanks, tees, dresses, swim wear, little girls basics/skirts, cute summer shirts and they come in some nice textures and colors. A total necessity for summer wear.

Women's Conference 2008

Last week I had the great opportunity to attend Women's Conference at BYU. My mom, sisters and sister-in-law go every other year and we had a fabulous time. If you've never attended before, I recommend it all the way! The speakers are amazing and this year, President Monson talked at the closing session. Sheri Dew spoke one day and so did Julie Beck (General RS Pres.) It was unbelievable- you'll never see so many woman in one place at one time- approximately 17,000 this year.

Besides the great classes that leave you on a spiritual high and have such great insight, the get-away is just as nice. Stay in a hotel, shop and eat out uninterrupted, go to movies, etc. If you're looking for a fun girls get-away- go! It's only $40 for the conference and well worth it. I was seriously tearing up after Pres. Monson's talk because I just felt so rejuvenated- ready to conquer the world! I so needed this.

And even better...my good husband took on the kids for a full 3 days & they did great, which makes my get-away even more special. When I got back, the kids pretty much planted themselves on my lap for a good couple of hours. Jace just kept staring at me. Guess it's good to be missed.
